Q about towing and weights

Following my previous thread about a clutch change on my Saab, I need to get it recovered first.

I have a dilemma though - we have one tow vehicle - a Peugeot 306 HDi Estate.

Now, the Saab weighs 1490kg, with the Pug weighing 1155kg.

Am I right in thinking that trying to tow the Saab with the Pug is suicide? The engine still runs on the Saab so braking can be assisted - but is it still dangerous?

It'll be fine. I'd avoid steep hills though.

The pug dervs are pretty good for towing, just drive smoothly.

I believe the cars max towing weight on a plaque in the engine alone with the max weight the cars chassis can handle?
