[Q] Cloneing windows to a new drive -- been a while sinse I have done this

Hi All.

Just realised im quickly running out of HD space on ym main PC and thought I would treat myself to a new 2tb HD and stick the smaller one in my NAS unit. Its been a while since I have cloned a windows drive ( 6-7 years ) so am a bit rusty.

Would the below be the right procedure now days?

1. install new HD in Pc as secondary Disk
2. Use softward (?) to clone the windows HD to the new second HD
3. Turn off PC and remove the old HD and put the new HD in its place
4. Swicth on PC
5. Profit??

This is how i used to do it I think dont know how much that has changed.

Also whats the best software to use? and also whats the best performance 2tb HD to get from overclocker especially seeing as the drive is going to have gigs and gigs of games from steam.

Hi, After you have installed your new drive as a secondary drive, you can use Acronis to clone your C:\ drive to your new drive. Then it's just a case of swopping data cables to boot off the new drive, or remove your old drive and boot off your new drive.
