Hi all

I have a nice system and am going to be ordering a new vid card today hopefully. I am toying with the idea of getting a new mousemat.

I am a big gamer, clanned in css and BF2

I have a Logitech MX510 at the moment, its nice and i've had it a while. I am considering an Icemat to go with my mx510.

I am currently using a desk and its beginning to get noticably sticky and slow. my q's

1) anything I should be aware about with the mousematt?... needing to use teflon feet for my mouse or anything like that
2) are any mice compatible?, considering it is glass
3) i may have the chance to get a razor copperhead soon, which im guessing will go nicely with an icemat, is it worth getting a good mousemat to go with an aging mx510?

Thanks all

I have a mx510 mouse and to start off with used an old mouse mat then just my desk but the movement was never that smooth. Was about to order an icemat then came across an old glass place mat. Always one to save some cash I decided to spray the underneath black and hey presto my own icemat for free :D Works an absolute charm and the movement is SO much better, it just glides over the glass. Its just as good as my bro's icemat but didn't cost me £20+, so just make your own ;) If you want to get a copperhead and ice mat then go for it, but I can't see how it will be £70 better than what you've got.

just received my G7 mouse not had time to test it gaming wise but so far its pretty good, my neighbour borrowed my steelpad S&S so using my desk and the mouse moves extremly smoothly and tracks 100%.

My MX1000 is just crap on everything.

I found my MX510 doesn't track well on the Steelpad and the QPad, but was fine on the Icemat.

The G7 is nice and smooth on my desk, but it doesn't track very well at all on the plastic Steelpad S&S. Or the QPad CT Large 1.5mm. Or the Black Icemat 2. It's a shame I wasted the money on all of these mousemats, but my desk is getting worn down patches which I was trying to hide :)

Icemat works great with my Mx518 which is essentially the same as the 510. I don't use the teflon feet, they annoy the crap outta me.

I don't think the icemat loves laser mice from what i read either.

saw some teflon sheet at my local supermarket to see how good it is and to be honest its not bad the mouse glides over it extremely well :)

well, got the icemat and my x1800 yesterday :D

awsome mousemat. My MX510 is right at home with the teflon feet. It is the perfect sensativitiy for me. Not gonna bother with a copperhead or G7

My 518 Works fine with a Qpad.

I've had 2 Qpads, and an ice mat with it so far, and i wasn't keen on the feel of the icemat at all, However, the huge surface on the Q pad makes it great for playing at low sensitivity.
