Q4 crashed and changed my contrast settings

As crazy as it may seem, Q4 crashed on my vista build.. AND it's messed up my contrast settings somehow.. Everything looks over glared. Reboots arn't helping either, nor is changing my res, colour depth, or anything at the moment its driving me FRICKIN crazy..

My WinXP dual boot is fine.. Just my Vista build. ARRGGGHHHH ID software you suck.

It's changed something, not easy to find.. Anyone else suffered the same fate..

That'll teach me for playing crap like Q4.

try this, always works for me for q3/q4 crashes

I remember when Q3 used to do this to my XP. A reboot or quickly running quake and quitting again would usually sort it.

...though possibly not in your case from the sounds of things

I used to get this. It's a setting in the ATi CCC.

Go to the "Color" tab and click "Reactivate ATi colour controls".

That sorts it for me.

happened all the time in Q3.. as stated above, opening the game and closing it again sorted it.

you can quit the game quickly by tilde>q>tab>return

Thanks, this is what sorted it for me.... Not good though.. It only changes it slightly, for some, they may not even realise and they will just run their screen that way without really understanding or realizing.

No doubt ID won't bother fixing it.
