Q4/OpenAL

I have an X-Fi Xtreme Music card and I notice than in Q4, it says the card is not OpenAL compatible and the EAX option is also disabled.

Is this a driver issue or does my card not support these features? If the latter would I need the Gamer version of the X-Fi?

All these different X-Fi versions are confusing the hell out of me, any help appreciated

Your X-FI is exactly the same feature wise as the highest end models. The problem will most likely be that the card isn't in 'game mode'. You can change this via the mode changer app that came with your card

His card is the same as the higher end cards with the exception of the onboard ram or xram i believe its called.

As for the OP i suggest you search for creative x-fi openAL or download web-update 3 for your card and that should fix it.

Thats the thing I hate most about X-Fi, for games I gotta switch into Game mode, I wish it was like normal drivers and did not have to switch modes and crap like that.
