Q6600 400X8 Showing as 3600 once in Windows

Just trying to get this clocked to 3200.

Not going for any sort of insane overclock.

Set the bios to 400x8 and mem divider set 1:1 and boots into windows no problems although its not stable.

Once in Windows however CPU-Z shows 3600 not 3200.

Anybody have any idea why this would happen?
System is in sig...

It thinks the Multiplier is 9x as thats the default (just the way Intels work)

CPU-Z really should show the correct clock.

Check your BIOS to make sure it is set to x8.

Make sure your using CPU-Z 1.4.1 or higher... but it really should show the correct clock...

I'm wondering because I seen this image in another post.

It shows the correct multiplier and resulting frequency....

Yup, it will be default x9 so check its x8.
I have 400x9 - 3600.

Got it sorted.

Made the changes in the Uguru section of the bios and then pressed F10 to save from the Uguru menu.

This seems to have done the trick 400x8 now showing as 3200.

Previously just saving from the main bios screen, don't think it likes it.

Possibly a slight glitch in the bios..
