q6600 4ghz

Very nice, have you tested for stability, and what sort of cooling are you using and also temps at load, if you dont mind me asking, if your stable at 4ghz that is pretty impressive as 4ghz q6600's are rare chips.:)

Yep i managed to eek 3.8ghz from mine under air cooling, needed the voltage just over 1.5 but any higher would have meant crazy voltage increases, leading to higher temps.

N1

i can just get over 4G on mine under water and run 3DM06 but not stable for any real length of time :D

Depends a lot on the motherboard... my Q6600 did 4gig easy on a P45 board... on the 750i its on now it only does ~3gig tops normally and 3.6gig with a lot of vcore (1.5v) and a volt mod to the motherboard :S

I only ever got mine to 3.0ghz when i had it installed in an evga 680i a1, that board died on me so i upgraded to the p45 in sig, 3.8ghz needed a bit of tweaking to get it stable.

This is from when I got mine .... I run it @ 3.8 24/7 as the fans get a bit loud under load - needs 1.4v for 3.8GHz. If I had stuck with water cooling then I reckon that 4GHZ for 24/7 operation would have been on as it keeps the noise level down. It was least 2 hours stable under Prime 95 as well from memory ...

Great work guys.

I was one of the first to use the Q6600 , feels like a while ago now. The best board around the was the 680i and i had the Abit IN9 - 32Max what was a killer board. The max i could hit was 3.1ghz anything else would fail to boot.

Im sure a nice P45 board would have helped clock it higher. I was using a Q9550 by this point.

Great to see 4ghz though. highly impressive. The voltage scares me though lol (1.5+)
