G0 (G zero, not GO) stepping, "SLACR" SL number written on the IHS.

Just to clear this up - all Q6600s with SLACR on them are G0, yes?

Edit: I agree with you guys - I can't generally stand txt-spk. Although I do abbreviate now and again, and love smileys. Don't hurt me! :D

Not really, having a qwerty layout and auto-correction of spelling means that I can text in proper English rather than in crap.

I 'kin HATE text speak. No wonder kids these days can't read nor write properly.

USE PROPER ENGLISH AND STOP BEING A LAZY ****ER

rant over...:p

Ok have the chip now & on it it says:

INTEL 05 Q6600
INTEL CORE2 QUAD
SLACR MALAY
2.40GHZ/8M/1066/05A
L739A554

So this is the 95w one yes?

Do you think £50 is too much to pay for this cpu as its a bit outdated now?

Personally I paid £80 for mine which included media server parts I needed and the upgrade to the Q6600 on my machine.

Very happy with it so far tbh.

"L739A554"

It was manufactured in 2007 - week 39 to be precise. and as stated £50 is a bargain price as it's £80 here and auction now.

Expect to run 3.1 - 3.2 at stock volts with a half decent motherboard.
