Ok, so I am getting the q6600 to upgrade my current cpu, as this seems to be the best cheap option to last me until the new intel stuff comes out.

I am now wondering what cooler you'd all recommend for overclocking to 3.2ish and whether my Geil ram (orange coloured one - that used be on offer a lot here on OCUK) - I can't remember the specific spec, will have enough voltage to do the overclock? it seemed to be ok with my E6400 however. Currently I also have Zalman CNPS9900-LED CPU Cooler, which is pretty good, but not sure it's enough for the q6600.

Any advice?

Thanks

Edit: I think this might be the ram I am using: http://www.geil.com.tw/products/showGallery/id/65

Spec:

PC2-6400 800MHz CAS4 Dual Channel
- Available in 1GB 2GB & 4GB Dual Channel Package
- Available CAS: 4-4-4
- 240 pin, Non-ECC, Un-buffered DIMM
- Working Voltage 2.0V
- Racing Orange Aluminum Heat-Spreader
- DBT (Die-hard Burn-in Technology) Enhanced

Everything you have should be fine for 3.2. You may need to upgrade the cooler, but I doubt it.

If your RAM is 4x 1gb sticks then you may find it a little more difficult to get the best overclock, but it's not impossible.

I would install it when it comes and see how you get on first.

Yup, hope you get lucky. Not sure if your board will hold you back a little, no real experience of it, but post back when you get the CPU if you're having trouble.

With more sticks of RAM loosen the timings a touch or push more NB volts, I have found both work for me.

That board will be a pleasure to overclock your Q6600 with, chipset wise its a ball hair off as good as P45.

I did find the Gigabyte boards P35's overclocked a little better but the Asus P5K didnt stop me getting 4.2Ghz.
