A bit of advice if possible...
I'm building a system from scratch (at another retailer I'm afraid... the price difference is just too much
) and the only component that is working out significantly more expensive than OC is the Quad Q6600.
I want to buy everything from one place, as I'll need to ensure that everything turns up at the same time on a single day off I have planned, so would be gutted to get everything except one component from another retailer - I'd rather just receive nothing and replan my day off!
Anyway, the Q6600 at said retailer is £164. My system will be for a mixture of gaming, internet, office and light editing. Would it be wise to downgrade to the Quad Q8200 (£140) and overclock slightly, or go for the Duo E8400 (£145)? Or, obviously, just plump for the Q6600 and pay the extra!?!
I'm not sure why the Q6600 is so much more on there than here on OC, I guess they're charging a premium for dwindling stocks...
