I'm really starting to find this annoying 
Ok yeah, this is my first build, and I'm not amazingly good at hardware. Ive only ever owned 1 pc of which was bought for me and it's worked absolutely fine for years. It's only until now Ive really decided I want to go the extra mile.
So as you can understand when it comes to CPU's I dont really have that much of an idea. I ask a few people and some say the new Intel q6600 because it's this that and the other and can do this, this and this. Then I ask someone else and they vouch for AMD Phenom.
It's an annoying position to be in I'm just wanting to see what the overal verdict from you guys would be. If you were building the ultimate gaming PC, what would it be? AMD or Intel?
