Hi all ive just put this new motherboard in and was wondering what are the best setting to overclock the q6600? I would like to get it running over 3Ghz if possible. Im using xp and have some geil ddr2 memory installed i think the timings for the memory are 6.6.6.18. Any advice would be great. I have looked at the post for the P5N-E SLI but find it all a lot to take in. Thanks. Also which is the best bios and how do i install it?

I had a Q6600 on a P5N-E SLI and the most i could get stable at was 3Ghz. The same chip did 3.4 in a P35 board so the mobo was the limiting factor :)

I upped the CPU volts to 1.4v in the BIOS and i also upped the northbridge volts - cant remember what value it was but it was the 2nd highest in the list.

Well this mobo will get my E6300 to 3.4 and thats with a 7 multi so it can hit a fairly high FSB, But (and its a big but) only if you up the NB volts to the max setting and this needs active cooling (80mm fan directly on the hs is fine).

I can't get past 2.7 with this Board, I've done extensive research an you are lucky to get above 2.7 with a quad

ive got it running at 2.76 at the moment but thats only using one of the overclocking profiles
