Hi Guys,

Does anyone here have a Q6600 under water? I see overclockers is selling the Apex rather cheaply and would love some feedback from anyone who has one or experience with water cooling.

My chip currently does 3.4ghx @ 1.4250 volts. I have it running under a "Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler" and temps hit upto 57/59c under max loads. Idle or browsing it at around 35c.

Wondering if water will let me put more volts and keep temps down?

Yes, that's a good kit at a good price - it should control your temperatures significantly better than a TRUE.

Just bought this kit off WJA96, getting prime load temps of 42 (cores 0,1) 36c (cores 2,3) with my G0 Q6600 at 3.4GHz with 1.4vcore

Hit 52c with 1.5v at 3.6GHz but wasn't stable enough for me.

interesting. So it seems to cool slightly better than my heatsink and probably a lot quieter I assume? It's cold outside at the moment so perhaps if the tube goes out the window and back in it can get even lower?

£%$£ I went and spent £37 on a Zalman 9700 lol. I've seen a Zalman watercoolign kit for as low as £85 kit, but doesn't look close to as good as that one above, definately will look into that in the coming months! Seems to knock roughly 5-10C off temps compared with AF7.

Ok I have it installed... what a pain in the a$$ that was. Got it all hooked up and started pumping in the fluid and then noticed the inlet was at the top of the water tank. Changing that was the start of the nightmare. Finally got the resolved after cutting some pipe off.

Then CPU block was leaking!!!!! dismantle everything and bleed completely dry this time!! coolant went everywhere!!

So I decided to use the white CPU paste that comes with it to seal the CPU block screws. Worked perfectly as not a leak in sight.

Temps have dropped rather nicely

Idle : 20 to 25c. ( before 30c to 35c )
Full load 45 to 50c. ( before 55c to 59c )

And bonus is the system is quiet seeing as I removed 3 big fans!!! woohoo! no more jet engine! All in all I'm pleased with the out come. :D

Cant insert imagine otherwise would show setup? :(

Anyone know the correct tubing for the Swiftech H20-220 Apex Ultra Watercooling sytem. If i can extend two pipes a little bit further it can sit outside on I enjoy the benefits of the cold. Drops the unit 15c!!!

Masterkleer or Tygon 7/16" is what you're after.
