Finally upgraded from my e6400 to a Q6600 which I was very happy about, did some testing making sure it's all stable and it appears to be so. One thing I did notice was that the difference between Core #0 and Core #3 was 7c - 8c which seemed a little odd, 2-3c would have been okay but 7-8 ?
Any ideas? Uneven IHS or is this normal?
On testing though I got a nice increase in performance - tested Crysis for this and gained a decent amount of FPS with just the CPU change from the E6400 to the Q6600
Oddly though the minimum FPS on the quad is 5 -6 FPS lower than the E6400, but the average and max FPS is 5 - 6 higher... strange! Anyway, benchmark pics:
