Hi,

Planning to overclock a friends Q6600 B0 stepping on a biostar T45 motherboard, with a titan fenrir cooler in a coolermaster haf 922 case.

What sort of clocks would this processor overclock to? And is there a maximum voltage that I can't go above?

Many thanks in advance?

Not familliar with that particular stepping but I'd imagine 3-3.2 would be reasonable.

As for voltage 1.45-1.5 IIRC is the max you want to push through those chips.

As far as I know there's a B3 and a G0. 1.5V is usually considered a 'safe' maximum but I've heard of a fair few people with very good cooling going above this. You might want to look for some reviews on your mobo to check it's OCing potential as I don't know a lot about Biostars but the B3 Q6600s will usually do 3.2-3.4GHz and the G0s 3.4-3.8GHz.

Its the B3 stepping I think, wasn't sure what was after the B but It defiantly started with that.

Thanks for the replys.

My B3 went to 3.2 with a P35-DS3R with a Tuniq Tower, with a DFI under water, got it to 3.6.

When it was on air, took it to 96deg once, still didn't throttle, and had it shut down when i forgot to wire up my pump:rolleyes:

Still going strong.

Had 3.4 stable from mine topped out at 3.55 but needed 1.45 volts for that, they do run hot and need lots of volts to go above 3.2 but they are solid and worth the effort
you will need to do more than just up the cpu volts to get it high and stable quite a learning curve past 3.2 imho :)
