Q6600 B3 to G0, worth it??

As per title guys, would it be worth swapping out my B3 for a G0?

I can get 3ghz out of my B3 at 1.35v, but it generates a lot of heat (low 70's on the hottest core) and I HATE system noise, so can't use a louder HS than I have now (ACF7Pro)

I might be able to pick one up at the right price and basically lose very little if I flog the B3 on that popular auction site

So, would it be worth it, and what sort of reduction in temps could I expect?

a decent CPU tower cooler like an Ultra-120 with a low speed fan will be a lot better than that AC7. Bigger fan = more air for less noise.

Yeah, my problem though is that I don't think I have the room in my case for anything much bigger than the AC7.

Thanks for the replies guys. I went for it in the end. Should have it by the end of the week and fitted over the weekend. Will keep you posted. Now hope to sell my B3 on the bay for around the 130-140 mark.

Seen most of the recent ones go for that amount, and you're right, it is ebay
