Hi,

Can get a Q6600 B3 pretty cheap but I wonder if it's worth it. I know the older B3's don't clock as well as the G0's.

The guy claims he has it running @ 3.0Ghz 1.35v and has not tested it higher. Do you guys think I might get to 3.2Ghz _at least_ with it? Will put it on a Abit IP35 with a Scythe Infinity 'Mugen' and Arctic MX-2. Airflow is (very) good in my case.

Regards

If he can get 3.0 Ghz at 1.35v i'm sure you'll be able to push it to 3.2 Ghz. just depends on the temperature your prepared to run at.

By the way how cheap is pretty cheap? because the G0 versions should be going cheap once the new quads are released.

I don't know him really, via a Dutch tweaking site with a sort of marketplace thingy. From selling on there he has good feedback. He will sill it to me inclusive delivery for 99 pounds. Something tells me I should pay the few quid more for a G0... I dunno, ya think it's worth the risk?

What temperatures should I be looking at? I'm running my E2160 3.2Ghz 1.525v overclock idle 24, load 65

Well the last B3 went for 85 inc and the last G0 for 114 inc. I also thought somebody recently sold a G0 for 90 inc but I can't find the thread, maybe I was dreaming :)

All in all not really much of a saving.

Hmmm, so maybe it's better if I don't buy now and just wait a little till they become cheaper? :)

EDIT:

I've decided it's better to stick with this E2160 @ 3.2Ghz for now thanks to the comments of this thread and my last. Thanks for your help, it's appreciated and probably saved me some hassle / disappointment / money in the end.
