Hi all, I'm getting rid of my WC setup and going back to air, so I will need a CPU cooler for my Q6600. I would like something that will keep it nice and cool, but isn't about a foot long! Suggestions?

Buying the H50. I can then take my current rad and kit out and clean it up ready for selling it all, then use the profit from that to buy a new case.

Prefer high end air to readymade water. My Noctua NH-D14 and TRUE rev c outperform any Corsair and Coolit product i've used while being much quieter.

I'm looking for a new case and I wanted something small so I wouldn't leave myself struggling for room. I'm not a massive overclocker so I think the H50 will suit fine... maybe.

Ah if your not really into overclocking then thats a different matter, the H50 will be fine then..

Well my Q6600 runs at 3.2GHz and never really bothered myself with looking to see if it'll go faster, I'm happy with the speed of my system, I just want it quiet as it's in the living room and on 24/7. So I want a new case which will be quiet and something that can keep my current clock and also keep everything nice and cool.

I have a Q6600 running at 1.5v 24/7 and the H50 keeps it down to 33-36 idle and doesnt go above 60 playing games like ut3.

So even for overclocking its pretty decent. And this is with PWM controlled fans so at idle its super quiet. I did replace the stock fan for 2x vipers.

Dont believe all the H50 bashing around here, yes its not proper watercooling, yes if you buy a heatsink the size of your motherboard it will be better aircooling, but this is easy to install, needs near no maintenance, and performs well without being so noisy.

You may want to change the stock fan on the H50, can be rather noisy by all accounts.

But going by your needs, yeh it should be fine.

I've got loads of fans at home so will come up with some combination. Cheers.

Thanks. Sounds like just the thing for me then.
