hi
ive currently got an e6300 with a freezer pro on. I am looking to step up to the q6600 and hope to aim for a 3ghz overclock on this. 2 questions here

1. Will i see a decent performance increase?
2. Will the existing freezer pro allow efficent cooling for the overclock

I have a Soprano case, the cooling solution seems fairly good in my eyes as far as the case is concerned.

Thanks for any help

The AC7 Pro will be fine with a Q6600 at 3ghz.

The performance difference will depend on what you use the quad-core for, and what speed your E6300 is currently running at.

yes the e6300 is overclocked to 2.1ghz

well im hoping the quad core will speed up my video converting more than anything?

oh and thanks for letting me know about the cooling :)

If your chip is nice and u have a decent mobo and mem you could milk another 1GHz from that chip without two much problem!

I'm gonna have a go at getting my E6300 stable at 3500MHz this weekend, max I tested so far was 3325MHz (475MHz-FSB x7) using 1.3875vCore and most other voltages set at minimum.

Clock it before u buy a new chip, I can notice a big difference when gaming between the chip at 2GHz and overclocked to 3GHz+
