Hey everyone,

Just got a Q6600 to replace a AMD64 3500+. I've coupled it with a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme and Scythe 1600 120mm fan but I'm just wondering about the temp readings I'm getting.

In Core Temp I'm getting 26-27 for two of the cores and 33-35 for the other two, but under load (Prime 95 torture test) the difference between the two sets of cores rises to around 12 degrees (42-44 and 52-55).

Just wondering if I should be slightly worried about the large difference in temps? Should I have a go at reseating the heatsink?

Cheers :)

Suspected a difference was normal, was just slightly worried that I had such a large difference! If it's all fine then I'll go and see what I can get this chip to do :)

While playing around with different voltages I managed to increase the temperature difference between the two sets of cores to around 25C. I decided after seeing the massive difference that it was perhaps a good idea to reseat the heatsink :)

Just cleaned everything off and running at 3.6ghz with 1.475v I'm getting no more then 1c difference between the cores. With all four cores fully loaded the temps don't exceed 68C :)
