q6600 DDR3 and USB 3?

is there such a motherbaord that exists if so whats best one for price? i dont really want to upgrade my CPU as i find its fast enough for what i use my pc for (overclocked to 3.2ghz on my ip35pro)

I don't think there are any Socket 775 Motherboards with USB 3.

Even if there were there's no point in buying one if you're happy with the rest of your setup.

If for some odd reason your finding DDR2 just isn't cutting it and only DDR3 will do you will need a X48 based chipset but be careful some X58's are DDR2 others are DDR3 and others are DDR2 & DDR3 compatible. I personally blackend my soul bought a X48 Foxconn Blackops board to go with my Q6700 back in late 2009 and it's DDR3 exclusive, it's a good board but needs to be watercooled to get the best from it. This is the sort of hardware you going to need but you might be able to find some people looking to of load it on the cheap like I did (hell it only cost me £80 new from OCUK).

So what USB3 device have you bought?

There are USB3 hard drives out, OcUK stock them

And there are USB3 S775 boards the Gigabyte GA-EP43T-USB3 being one of them. Theres also DDR3 s775 boards but i dont think theres one that has both so youd need to get a S775 DDR3 board and a USB3 expansion card.

Pointless upgrading just for DDR3 tho. If you want USB3 just buy an expansion card

just wanted usb for faster hdd transfer was fedup with 40mbps now getting 90mbs when coping hdd to hdd but the sata 3 is crap on that card compared to the onboard, but i might buy a sata 3 ssd see if that does anything
