I won a non working computer from the bay the other day for some spare parts. It was advertised as having problems installing windows with the following spec - P4 3.2Ghz , 2GB mem , 400GB HD and MSI Mobo , got it for £27 inc postage.
When I turned it on I couldn't believe it when I saw the bios screen :) !! Q6600 !! , turns out the 2GB memory was faulty and causing the probs with the windows installation so I tried some other ram and installed windows to check all other components which are all working fine.
So for £27 I got Q6600 , MSI Core2/Quad mobo , 400GB HD , DVD-RW , 500W PSU , Firewire PCI card.

Now thats what I call a bargain :)

Wow, that's an awesome deal. Enjoy your new PC!

Stll deciding what to do with it all , I upgraded my PC to a i5 760 last year but I am still using my old trusty 8800GT with the setup.
Thinking about flogging the cpu/mobo and my 8800GT and getting a shiny new gfx card :)

I dislike people like you. Why does life gota hate on me all the time. I want luck :(

I've had quite a few bargains of the bay from people who just don't actually advertise their items correctly .
Also there are many people who advertise pc's as pick up only as they don't want to risk posting them which dramatically reduces their buyer market straight away so plenty local bargains to be had, picked up a couple of pc's this way for half the price they would have been worth if the person was willing to post.

how much is a Q6600 actually worth then?

I have a feeling my rig is worth more in its individual components than it is as a rig....

The Q6600 currently goes on the bay for roughly 65-75 inc delivery.

I have been watching some custom riggs that have been up for sale and they are selling for a lot less as a whole than the individual components are going for.

One I was watching the other week went for £220 but I calculated selling the items individually on the bay would easily have made £350.
