Q6600 G0 @ 3ghz out of the box

Hey folks,

So i've got my Q6600 G0 @ 3ghz on first boot up, loaded up Prime95.

333mhz x 9

Ram @ 2.50 Divider.

Only concern is the voltage? I have not set it manually on my mainboard ( It seems to do it automatically)

Look ok?

I only want to go to 3ghz Im not interested in going higher than that, so just thought i'd do it straightaway.

It's not a massive clock to be fair...

Nice, why is your ram running so loose timmings, and the divider this should easily do 900 MHZ ?

Im not sure, I didn't change any ram timings?

I think my ram divider is doing about 825mhz instead of 800.

I've changed RAM to 4-4-4-12

The voltage is all being controlled by the BIOS, it throws up a green light so it seems to be happy!

To let a CPU burn in... If it is plausible... May only gain small amounts over time anyway.

For someone like me, Im not bothered if my CPU could do 3.6ghz after letting it be run in at 2.4, as i'd rather just have the happy medium of 3ghz and keep with it, and try my hardest to find the lowest possible vcore to run with it, so it is almost barely troubled by doing the 3ghz over the stock 2.4ghz.

I overclocked an old pentium chip 300mhz more from day one, and it is still going strong now (over 6 years ago).

Everyone has their own views, and I completely respect that.

For me, if I blow this chip out, I will just get another and not be so cocky with it! LOL

Dont forget it was very hot and humid last night thats why I was getting the higher CPU temps.
