Having got over 3.4 GHz with the volts on auto I decided to go a little further if possible.

I now have:

CPU Enhanced Halt, CPU Thermal Monitor 2 and CPU IEST Function – disabled
MCH and FSB increased by 0.1v.
Vcore – 1.35v

332 at 9 = 2.988 GHz with Memory Multiplier at 2 for the time being.

With these settings Everest reports Vdimm as 1.89.

Previously with the optimised defaults Vdimm was 1.89.
On auto volts this increased to 2.1 – the default for this Ram.

Increasing the DDR2 volts in the BIOS by 0.1 has had no effect on this and is still 1.89.

I’m wary of increasing this further in case I’m adjusting the wrong setting.

Thanks Cob that sorted it.

When running Prime95 and it fails I find a thread simply stops or the PC crashes.

When it does crash, the temps recorded by Everest are at worst around 60 C so I assume there is no particular concern over a crash rather than a thread simply stopping?

sorry to jump in but i've got nearly the same setup :p

anyway when a thread in prime does stop does that mean the vcore voltage needs upping? & what's a safe voltage? am im on 1.45 & currently trying to get 3.4GHz stable :)
