Hi guys i have overclocked my Q6600 to 3Ghz on 1.304v.

I have a Zalman CNPS9500A-LED CPU Cooler with Arctic Silver 5.

These are my temps:

That tip about turning the heating off and opening a window is actually really great advice!. Ive just found that my PC core temps were 10 degress lower when I took my PC around my mates house (28, 30 32, 32).

Chip tends to run hotter than dual cores and can be quite random with temps. My hottest core is either 33C idle or upto 36/37C idle depending what day it is lol.

My case is under my desk and is quite enclosed. I turned off the heating and opened the windows the idle temps went down to 19'c
Didnt try load becuase it was getting cold.

I have a cheapo case but it has good airflow. I have 1 front intake fan and 2 outtake fans including the Powersupply.

just out of interest Tizzer, what software are you using to monitor you temps?

also have you compared your temps above to what it says in the bios?

have you tried coretemp?

Mins idles at up to 50 C depending on my room temps. Q6600 @ 3.6Ghz

Sadly I cant open my windows as my spiders like it warm :p

Im abit worried about the temps people are giving on here. I've just finished my new build and have my Q6600 stock at the moment with a Asus Arctic Square Cooler with MX-2 between them and it idles at 32 C but whenever i do anything or under load its 65 66 C. I've got a Antec 182 case and dont understand why it running so hot do i need to reseat my cooler. My temps are nearly as high if not higher than the posters who have overclocked to 3ghz

coretemp might not even be accurate, but regardless the max core temp goes upto 95/100C on the Q6600 so technically 65C fully loaded with prime is actually pretty good, infact i'd accept temps in the low 70Cs with prime as for normal use, encoding, games, folding whatever will simply not reach those kind of temps.

Temps look OK to me. My Q6600 @ BIOS 1.3 running at 3.2 under load gets to around 63 but I've got naff case cooling, take the side panel of the case the temps drop by around 8 degrees.
