picked up one for my media pc. anyway i cant get it stable past 3ghz which seems...wrong. what's the default vcore on this? 1.35v?

Been along time since I played with a q6600 but if I rember the highest vcore was 1.45 but don't quote me on that . Have u tried loosing the timings on the memory and raising fsb ?

I'm sure I remember taking mine to 1.55 vcore. Then again I did have it to 96c in IBT

Kept my bedroom nice and toasty when we had no gas heating for 3 months

got it at 3159mhz @ 1.35v. fsb is 351. but its very hot. i was expecting more from a g0 but the vid is 1.325 so maybe its a duffer.

The VID is pretty bad, I have one with the same VID and it clocks okay. Mine's 1.285V been overclocking it tonight lol. It needs about 1.34v under load for 3.24GHz, but because the vdroop is so bad on my board I have to run it at 1.38v idle.

Are you sure your ram is stable? It's something to look out for. Sometimes I need to add 1-2 steps of FSB voltage. But not at 3GHz.

What cooler you got? Q6600 G0's seem to need decent motherboards to clock really well. Mine's been at 3.24GHz for about 4 years at these volts.

Mine is actually 1.28V-1.30V at load, not sure if it's stable though I'm gonna leave it overnight. Temps are 61c max really. Tjmax for Q6600 is 90C apparently. I've always had it at 100c so always thought it was hotter than it was.
