I currently have a q6600 that is running extremely hot, as some of you may remember. I am wondering what sort of temperatures people are seeing from this 'Energy efficient' version over the standard q6600, and whether you think it would be worth ebay-ing my current one so i can get an energy efficient one and FINALLY overclock it.

At the moment it is simply too hot to overclock.

Opinions?

EDIT: Possible move to cooling forum?

I've tried everything with my cpu, just seems to run hot. Possibly concave heatspreader, but from some tests it seems not to be. I use AS thermal paste, tower 120, and a decent enough case. I've reseated it plenty of times and still no luck. If you have any other ideas i'm more than happy to hear them, my only last option was to lap it, but i from the few degrees i may save i personally dont think it is worth it.

My best option at the moment i think is to wait for penryn like one of you mentioned. Any release dates confirmed/approximated?

Thanks for the input.
