Q6600 Help plz

Hi

I ordered thr Q6600 with the Asus P5K Premium Wifi mobo and 4 GB of OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Reaper HPC Edition Dual Channel DDR2.

I ran the latest version of cpuID ( 1.46 ) and it says that my RAM is running at 400mhz and my cpu @ 1600mz.....

Can somebody help as I am a total noob... how do I get it to 2.4 GHZ and 1066??

CPU will be at 1.6ghz because of the SpeedStep powersaving mode. It will jump back to 2.4ghz as soon as it needs too.

You double CPU-Z's memory speed, so yours is currently at 800mhz. You will need to go into the BIOS and manually change the speed to 1066mhz. But be sure to set the correct memory voltage first (2.1v).

This is mad! I chose DDR2 1066 from the Bios as per the manual but on the SPD tab on CPUid it says max bandwidth is PC2-6400 (400mhz ).....

That's normal. If the Memory tab says 533mhz then it will be ok.
