Q6600-i7

I was thinking of getting a new cpu like the 9650. But had some good advice off people on here so am looking at the cost of a i7 set up as i would have to buy new mb cpu and ram. am not shaw on what to get yet but i would like to base everything round these

Do i go for a cheasper one or splash out and get the top of the range.
i wont to stay with asus as ive not had any problems with there stuff ever. These are some of the ones ive been looking at

But as for cpu go ive no idea on that yet
I do a lot of gaming, not happy if i dont get good game play at max settings
i do like to overclock my stuff and would like my new cpu to go to 4000mhz or over, thats why i was going for the 9650 to get 4000mhz.
when i got my q6600 i wanted to get over 3500mhz and i have so next step is 4000mhz and over.
So all your coments will help me make up my mind. With thanks

i duno what your budget it but this kinda a mid-high i7 build. if you can give us your budget then thatd be gr8 =)

Unless desperate to buy NOW then I would wait and see what the LGA 1156 systems are like.

1336 processors will be around for ages, just not necessarily cheap and affordable.

The i7 860 is set tthe same price as the i7 920 yet clock faster, run cooler and potentially overclock further. MB and RAM costs should be less too. i'd wait a couple of weeks and see what the reviews say.

what do you want to do with the system ? encoding i7 is the way to go, gaming, not quite so
