Thought id try to give my sons PC a new lease of life by OC

Whilst trying to OC and determine if its stable of not it seems im getting Prime95 Errors, within 1 minute.

FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4
Hardware failure detected, consult stress .txt file.

I reverted back to stock speeds and im still gettting the errors. Im currently running a memtest86 to check the memory.

I can get the temps to touch 55*c at full load.

Reset the motherboard bios to optimised defaults and start from there. Need to have stable at stock before worrying about overclocking.

I havent really altered anything in the bios, but I will revert back to optomised defaults, then alter the basics like no A drive, and so on. Will post back

try leaving it still at stock on the cpu and memory, and up some of the voltages cpu, nb, VDIMM etc. like said above you want to make sure everything is ok at stock before you try oc'ing

Have tried upping the voltages to 1.375 on the CPU and 2.1v on the ddr, Not to sure on how much to up the others but that made no effect.

Still errors with cpu 1.375 and ddr 2.1v the rest at stock.

Wish I never found this out as its going to bug me, sytems has been stable up until now as far is I knew

Heres some pics of the main bios settings.

Will do spose it would be a good idea to move the sticks around too, and try different combinations. Shame I havent got any other ram to try

Ok it seems one of the 2gig sticks of ram is bad, when its in the system i get errors on prime95 no matter which slot, without the stick prime passes ok.

Just goes to show dont rely on memtest.

Going to have to sort an RMA out with G Skill now
