Have you properly sat the heatsink right, sure you didn't damage your cpu even the slightest? Probably have but you always gotta check 
Was careful, got decent contact, 35c on idle. Thinking of flashing the bios, but no floppy drive.
Kinda of stuck here, because the performance is pretty good, got it running at 3ghz, and gta4 is just the same as before, its not too urgent least my system works.

go to msconfig>boot tab>advanced options & check detect HAL, click Ok & check 'make boot settings permanant & click apply then reboot.
