Just a question about which would give me more of a performance boost, a q6600 CPU or an additional overclockers 8800 GT as can't afford both right now!!

Heres my current system:
Abit FP-1n9 sli
Pentium D 915 @ 3.6
Akasa AK-975CU CPU Cooler
overclockers 8800gt 512
Corsair 2GB PC2-5300C5
450w PSU

I mainly use it to play games and Crysis is a bit hungry! I believe with the FP-1N9, if you run two cards SLI the PCI express bus's only run at 8x each. Would this be a problem if I went down the 2 cards option?

Thanks in advance.

Q6600 tbh, that Pentium D will be a bottleneck to that GT I rekon.

A decent dual core should be enough tbh, like an E8400, overclocked of course.

I'd go for the quad myself, if you went for the extra 8800GT your psu may well be not up to the job of powering both cards.

I was kind of leaning towards the new CPU so thanks for that. Just out of interest, would the PCIe only working at 8x when SLi'd be an issue should I get another 8800 gt in the future?

Just noticed the PSU, a Quad core, especially overclocked might be pushing that PSU too, what make/model and the rails on the PSU?
