Hey

Currently have my Q6600 at 3.0ghz (thermalright u-e) on an MSI neo2-fr with 4 GB of corsair xms2 ram. It runs great and has idle of temps of around 35 and load temps of around 55-60, hasn't crashed once and been extremely stable.

Now, the problem comes when I try and overclock to 3.2 - it'll be fine for a period of time and then blue screen on me (sometimes after two hours, sometimes after 5 minutes). Temps seem fine, is there any other reason for this? Is it a case of increasing the voltage?

According to core temp it's currently running at 1.3125v (is coretemp accurate?) at 3.0ghz - when I increase to 3.2 should I increase the v also? At the moment it is currently set to auto in the bios.

Any help appreciated

Nope - I ran prime at 3.0ghz for an hour or so and it passed fine, I didn't really have the patience for any longer. I guess I just kinda assume 3.0ghz is fine on this chip

It crashes playing crysis or any other game really. Stranglehold it held out for aaaages then crashed randomly. It fails prime sometimes after 5 minutes, sometimes after half hour, doens't tend to last long though.

NB = North Bridge I assume? What is a safe limit for the NB? Just out of interest, don't want to increase and end up blowing it! :)

cheers for the help
