ok thx my mate said it didnt support 1066mhz

i couldnt find it for sale to check and the asus site sucks, its so low and hardly ever works for me

so i wasnt sure.

The E6600 you have in it now is 1066 FSB

The Q6600 should work fine (check for BIOS updates) but 975X chipset boards don't overclock them like P35 and X38 can.

i thought the e6600 was 800

i got my e6600 an 800mhz oc on air which im happy with, the cpu will be as a gift so i cant ask for a new mobo too

i will be happy to reach 3ghz with the q6600

The E6600 bus speed is 1066, you should be able to achieve 3.2ghz with your present motherboard combined with a Q6600
