Hi people

1. What is the best temperature monitoring software other than coretemp - i cant seem to get TAT to run on my system it errors on startup everytime.

2. What stress software for overclocking stresses all 4 cores at once?

3. Whats a safe vcore for these chips my vdroop seems massive?

Cheers

1. CoreTemp or Everest for the Quads.

2. Prime95 v25.4.

3. Depends on your cooling. Try to keep the temps under 70c during Prime95.

Thanks for that.

Are these readings correct for a GO quad as i read somewhere that you have to add 15 degrees or am i wrong?
And what temperature should i not be exceeding for 24/7 use?
Also what test and settings do i need on prime 95 v25.4 to gurantee i stressing the ship properly?

The latest version of coretemp and everest appear to be reading the temperatures correctly.

85c is where the chips start to throttle back. I personally don't like my cores to go above the 70c mark for any length of time even though this is still within the safe limits.

To stress the cpu = small fft's.
To stress the whole system = blend.

It is especially important to use blend after you have ensured that small fft's test has passed as blend puts stress on your cpu, cache, NB and mainly the memory.

So my coretemp temps are around 30 idle at 3000mhz is this a correct reading i heard these quads were hot yet my old a64 was a lot hotter?

What settings do i need to change in prime95 to make it use all cores and what is 'round off checking'?

Regards

Well I cant say as I dont know what version of coretemp you are using;).

You need to download Prime95 vers 25.4. Select torture test and small fft's. This will stress all four cores. Also make sure round off error checking is enabled.

There's been a few cases here of the latest version of CPU-Z not running on the IP35-Pro.

Prime95 will tell you if a core has failed, providing you have enabled the Round off Checking option in the advanced menu.
