Q6600 Retail on offer!

A spare fan for a fiver is worth it at least in my eyes. :D
Maybe I value the stock fan too high, but since its a fivers difference I'm pretty sure I'll get the retail :D

Hmm I personally haven't read anything about it... why would that happen though?

I dunno, all I heard was that people are putting big OCs on them for benches etc, then bringing them down to a normal OC, and after that they start to fade, to below stock :|

Hmm well unless someone provides me with an actual logical argument for why this would be the case I would have to consider that info a bit suspect... I always thought that a CPU overclocked exactly as much as it was able to at a given temperature. I just can't see any reason why performance would degrade without any other contributing factors...

I suffered from degredation with the E8500 because i went past 1.45v with it.

Yeah but the 3 year RMA'ing warrenty is ... well more valuable :D

No its not, you get a year warranty as standard.

If a chip breaks its normally going to be DOA, or fail very soon after purchase. It might fail after years and years...more likely after 5 years.

The chances of it breaking between 1-3 year marks is virtually nil + the cpu is worthless anyway after a year.

Agreed, cpus rarely fail though i have had the odd failure/bad cpu that still worked kind of but i've dealt with thousands in my lifetime and i could count the number on one hand. Not counting the Northwoods i've seen and had that died of SNDS :D
