Hi, I'am a noob so this might be a stupid question.

I have recently changed my motherboard, ram and cooler. When i original ran wei i got 7.1 for my processor, but now i get 6.9.

I decicded to download cpu-z and it states
processor q6600 G0 @ 2.4ghz
core speed is 1600.0mhz
multiplier x6.0
Bus speed 266.7mhz
rated fsb 1066.7 mhz
core voltage 1.136v

under memory it states
dram frequency 533.3mhz (i thought i would at least get 1066mhz)
fsb:dram 1:2

i have also downloaded coretemp and my core temp is around 40C on all the cores.

These are my specs
processor - q6600
motherboard - asus p5p43td/usb3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131639
ram - corsair ddr3 1333mhz 2 x2gb
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...=corsair_ddr3_1333_4gb-_-20-145-299-_-Product
cooler - artic cooling freezer 7 rev 2

what should i do to get it back to 2.4ghz or could i overclock to 3.0ghz and get more out of the ram.

any help would be much appreciated

Hello and welcome to the forums.:)

Your cpu speed/multi being lowered is down to intel speedstep, this lowers the multi/clockspeed at idle, a power saving feature, put the system under load and it will run at its rated 2.4ghz, 9x multi. Also, as your ram is ddr, (double data rate), 2 x 533 = 1066.
