This is the same as my e6400 which I have just replaced with the q6600. Is this a bios problem? Thanks
 
What motherboard do you have, can you access the BIOS to see what the settings are, perhaps you may need to change the multiplier!

Also what does windows show on terms of speed and CPU-Z.

DS3r. I'll just check the multiplier :) Actually it shows as a quad but the multiplier is set to 8 or 266 X 8. Should it be set to 9? Just checked it should be 9. Thanks and shame on me for not realizing.
