Q6600 stock idle temps

As the title says my temps are sitting at around 35-40 at idle with the system in my sig.. i was thinking thats a little high with my cooler whats the opinion?

Depends, what is the ambient room temperature?

Sounds fine to me but as said above it does depend on your average room temp.

my room is generally quite warm much to my annoyance.. so maybe thats it... i guess i was just being paranoid cause i was not too impressed with the thermal paste that came with the cooler and thought i had maybe not installed it 100% correctly.... i found my syringe of AC5 the day after i installed(typical) i may just take the cooler out clean the sink and apply ac5 properly

Yeah, it's probably just your room temperature.

Mine idle's in the low 20's with MX-2 and the Coolmaster V8; but my room is kept quite cool on purpose. A friend of mine has a similar set up and his idle is pretty much the same as yours due to his high ambient temperature.

Stock cooler mines is 40 idle same processor , room isnt the coolest tho

Mine is higher at 45-50 but thats coz I have a cheap PSU that gives out loads of heat into the case
