how far can you get one of these beast by simply using the stock volts and an AC pro Freezer 7 cooler??

I am hoping to hit 3GHz but wondered what your experiences might be??

Ta.

Nice, how hot would it normally run at at those clocks do we know??

I'm looking to a Quad upgrade, but want to find out if this will hit 3GHz and remain decent temps before rushing to get a Q9450 or somet :D

I'm running it at 3.375Ghz at 1.46V and it tops 70C according to TAT and that's running a F@H multi-core client. I'm using Tuniq Tower 120 and both the heatsink and CPU are lapped. Think it was 55C under load at 3Ghz stock volt.

I've got the AC7Pro, Q6600 and IP35 Pro and Crucial Ballistix PC5300.
Got 3.00GHz on 1.4v, any lower and peripherals, monitor wouldn't boot.
Temps 45+ idle. Speedfan. Coretemp had extreme ones like 70 - 90 which I really doubt since my room temperature was 20 and system temperature was about 28.

So I guess you might be able to do it fine.

Or alternatively would hte 9450 be a good investment, just to get to 3GHz with the Pro 7 still??

also the 12MB cache is appealing and the 45nm technology.

I'm not an Xtreme overclocker but would like a 3GHz Quad and if the 9450 can do it just as good as a q6600, i'll get the 9450
