Hi guys,

Recently bought an upgrade bundle from OCUK
IP35-Pro
Q6600
Crucial Ballistix 8500

Now I dont want to max on the overclock just get a useable day to day figure somewhere in the middle so thought I would aim for 3Ghz, from what ive read easily achievable mostly on stock volts.

Current settings taken from BIOS are
External Clock 340Mhz
Multiplier x9
Estimated new Clock 3060Mhz
DRAM Speed (CPU:DRAM) 1:1.5 (DDR-1020)

Voltages are all stock except have put RAM from 1.8 default to 2.2v

However when I run up CPUz in the OS it says
Core voltage is 1.060 and fluctuates a bit to like 1.140
The Core speed is 2040Mhz
Multiplier is X6
Bus speed is 340Mhz
Rated FSB is 1360.2Mhz

Memory in CPUz is down as
510.0Mhz
FSB:DRAM 2:3
5-5-5-18

Is this anything to worry about? or am I doing something wrong?
System boots and runs 3D Mark 06 ok havent done any stress testing yet but wanted to make sure im on the right tracks first.

Any help/comments appreciated.

Thanks

you have speedstep turned on, it lowers the multiplier when the cpu is idle

disable it by turning off C1E and E1ST in the bios

speedstep is enabled, if you want it at 3ghz all the time, find C1E or speedstep in bios and disable it. Basically it will put your cpu up to normal speed as soon as the processor is needed, otherwise at idle it'll lower the multiplier and voltage (im assuming you have the vcore on auto), and run slower.
