Hi, im currently running my q6600 at 362*9 = 3250 ish speed. and i have a concern before i go further. Firstly under load the cores are running at about 60c which seems about right for that speed, the problem is the actual CPU temp.

Under everest and Abit uguru it reports 70c after about 2 seconds, and 75c ceiling while running prime. Speedfan however reports it at about 58c. All the posts ive seen suggest the CPU temp should be below the core temps... if this isnt the case what could be wrong ? is everest wrong ? or is there a HSF problem ?

I'm using a tuniq tower 120 HSF as suggested by OCUK, Abit IP35 Pro mobo..

I'm reading some guides and its suggested that its impossible for the CPU temp to be higher than the core temps ? doesnt this suggest everest is wrong or ?

Yeah but you've a 45nm chip.

Running v14 and a Q6600 here with no issues.

16 and 17 report my Q6600 wrongly, but are fine with my Q9450.
