Just got my new pc :D

basically, im looking to keep a bit of an eye on temperatures of the processor, and i was wondering what program you would recommend for the best readings, and what temps i should look out for with that program!

thanks!

I got mine at 3.55Ghz at 1.488v with a Scythe infinity with a 120mm fan at 1200rpm...(pretty darm quiet)....

Hits 74c on the hottest core in prime95 small FFTs.

I'm happy with that, if its busts, well thats what a warranty is for.

temps

My Q6600 at 2.93 is reporting the following : (at 100% CPU load - BOINC)

Gigabyte monitor = 43 to 45 deg C
Speedfan = 43 to 46 deg C
Core temp 0.97.1 Core 1 = 52 , Core2 = 52 , Core 3 = 49 , Core 4 =49

Looking up the blurb on these , the max is around 65-70 so I am thinking this is going to be just fine ?

:o This thread makes me sad.

I just installed my 4th heatsink on my Q6600 today.

@ stock clocks I am idling low to mid 30s and load low to mid 40s.

In case you were wondering I have the Titan Amanda TEC Cooler (all 1KG + PCI controller of it) and the older (less overclockable Q6600).

But I am wondering, would I be able to rev up my CPU a little more?

Would 2.8 be too much of an ambition?
