just got my Q6600 GO and its VID is 1.25v and its currently running at 3.6ghz @ 1.4v

my temps are quite strange in that under load 2 of my cores are at 69c and the other 2 are at 47c.

while idle there is only a 6-7c difference, is that about right or are those 2 cores a bit hotter than i think they should be? i know they vary but my x2 3800 was only 10c difference and the same for my E6400 so this seems way out.

im watercooling and thought i would get better temps than this.

scrap that, orthos only uses 2 cores :o

p95 is running now but i had to up the vcore as it failed withing seconds at 1.4v

cpu is currently at 74c :O and each core is 71-71-66-66

is that about right for water? seems to me thats what people are getting on air :/

1.4v is too low for 3.6ghz on most Q6600's.

Temps are a little high for the voltage. What's your watercooling spec?

its an asetek kit,

L20 pump,
120.2 rad,
antarctica block
original asetek standard cpu block on the graphics card.

i'm getting quite bad vdroop now since putting this chip in and 1.45v was reading 1.41 under load and that failed on 1 core after 5 mins so 1.4v must have been about 1.36 under load lol.

reseated the cpu block and temps haven't changed much, hit 75c before 1 core failed. my E6400 was 28c idle and 50c load @ 1.45v with no vdroop where as this chip is 36c idle and 75c+ load @ 1.45v (1.41v after vdroop)

Probably isn't the best of blocks for a quad-core tbh.

its done me extremely well in the past and got far better temps than the best aircooling on my other chips (i know they wasn't quads) . i was pushing 2.1v through an athlon 2800xp and temps never hit 60c ever.

i have a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro and my water cooling eats it alive yet i've seen others with it using more vcore than me and get the same or better temps than me.

joedeath332 thats at 1.45 and 1.41 after vdroop.

my block cant be seated right, ran prime for a while and my cpu says 80c but my rad is cool and stays cool, it usually warms up after a while but not this time :|

my block is seated right after all, i ripped my external watercooling box apart today to get to the bottom of these silly temps and found that the rad is getting exceptionally hot, i was touching the side panels which dont get warm at all but the top and bottom of the rad (where most of the water is held) is very hot.

so it appears my rad is the weakest link as it can't be shifting the heat fast enough, whats a decent cheap rad as mine needs to be changed :/

is that a thermochill PA120.2 or are you using 120.2 as a generic term for a double rad? That could make a huge difference.
