Q6600 temps

Hi all,

What temps are ok for a Q6600?

I've a dell dimension 9200 and have overclocked it to 2.7ghz which is IBT stable (50 runs at high stress setting). The temps maxed about 82c. Is this ok?

I wouldn't push past 85 degrees if I'm honest.
Overclocked mine to 3.4GHz and it was hitting 90 under load (35 idle) so dropped it back down to 3.3GHz. If you think your cooler may be limiting the overclock then I suggest investing in another one, it can make all the difference!

Pay attention to your Northbridge as well, they get very hot and cause instability past a certain threshold.

I'm happy at 2.7ghz. It is a dell afterall lol. I know it's not stable at 2.75ghz

My idle is around 45c.

How can you tell the Northbridge temp?
