hi,

just upgraded my cpu from a q6600 to a qx9650

problem is now my games are crashing

wow = texture tearing
death track quits with a texture error

sounds strange to me could i be a graphic card problem?

is it just a coincident

my graphics cards are 2x GTX 280 sli

any ideas?

looking at your signature, your memory speed is okay, i have the same cpu, and i dont have any problem with the memory that i am using also if you look at my signature, it
could be your memory speed is not set properly, since in games it does stress the timming a bit more, which i found out when i got the cpu running first time. Your cpu should be 1333Mhz (333*4) and your memory should be set in the bios at 1066Mhz (533*2) i was able to play around with the ratio multi to get my memory to be 1334 (667*2) but you would have to increase your voltage a bit, try it out and see whats happens.

Possibly the bios settings you had for your previous cpu is being applied to the new one?

Reset your bios, and you *should* be ok.

However.... what I would personally do, becuase Im like that is reinstall windows, simply becuase when windows installs it tailors its self to the hardware available.....

May not be neccessary, but I would anyway..

Bios update is also not a bad idea either...

BIOS update - yes preferably before installing new cpu.

Reinstall OS, really? :confused: - totally unnecessary and utterly pointless, unless of course your pc needs a fresh install ;)
