Just pricing up options on upgrading a Overclockers PC i have had since jan 2008.

Its the one with the q6600 @ 3.2ghz
IP35 PRO motherboard
2gb PC8500 DDR2
768mb 8800gtx
Running vista 32bit
Antec 900 case

Upgrade Budget = £600-800

Would like to build into new case, re-using the dvd drive, using hard drive as storage secondary drive in new build and re-using power supply 650 watt corsair(only 9 months old)

I already have g700 mouse, g510 keyboard, working 1 year old Logitech 2.1 speakers, and a brand new Easter 2012 bought Samsung S23A350H 23 inch 1080p monitor.

Wont need Windows 7 as i can get that through my work.

Edit: would like new hard drive, and i will be wanting to run all the latest games on ultra with 40fps or more.
Thanks in advance.

I upgraded to a Fractal case, Samsung 830 256GB SSD, 7970, 3570K, UP4 TH, 8GB Samsung Green ram, and I'm very happy.

I have D-14 as a cooler, something like a Coolermaster 612S would be great. A Fractal R4 would be a complete change from the 900. It would be quiet and not a complete dust magnet. ;)

Can swap out the SSD, can change case, can change motherboard, heatsink, can get a 7970 if you save £50 elsewhere. Just a base which I think gives good value. Not the fastest SSD, but quicker than a normal hard drive. Maybe wait or get an 830/840. :)

Also if you don't want to overclock, you won't need a heatsink yet. :D

830 is on offer, there is an 840 coming out but is pre-order.

Also wow, you have 2GB ram? :D

I'm about to buy a new PSU and 612S cooler to build a rig out of my Q6600 and revived 8800GTX 768mb...:) baked it in the oven and voila, it is cooked. Also works.

Some P35 boards had an ugly FSB wall, my P35C-DS3R wall was about 376MHz, but needed some serious volts to get there and ran very hot.

My jaw nearly actually fell off when I saw the state you got your Megahalems in!
