Ok so I reset my settings by mistake and I cannot remember what Vcore I used to run :D

Im trying to run at around 3.4-3.5GHz (440 FSB X 8)
What is a typical Q6600 Vcore? (For the life of me I cannot remember!)

Probably depends on your vid. Mine has a vid of 1.3250 so mine needs over 1.5v for 3.6, I think for 3.4 I needed about 1.45v

Chip dependent. I'd give it a go at 1.4v first, checking temps under load. If it falls over bump it up, if it doesn't drop a notch. Rinse repeat!.

Mine is only clocked at 3.0GHz (or rather 2997MHz :D) at a core voltage of 1.285

VID is a myth to me tbh. I've clocked dozens of Q6600s and found that overclockability is about the same with high and low vid chips. Have had low VID needing tons of volts to hit say 1.5v for 3.4Ghz when a high vid chip needed only say 1.3 for the same.

I'd stay at 1.45 and below for 24/7 always best to air on the safe side.

:D I like that.

I agree to an extent but i have a G0 @ 3.8 at 1.55v under a TRUE in a mates folding rig for years with no ill effect. Damn near bullet proof chips lol. He had a spare in case it went pop but recently sold that on the bay as it looks unlikely to happen.

Is it safe to run at over 1.5v? I also have a 1.3250 vid and run mine at 3.2ghz with 1.45v.

I think the recommended limit by Intel is about 1.5v but these 65nm chips are pretty good at taking some voltage. Mine runs 1.54v for 3.6ghz stable and I run it 24/7 stable and have done for months. Obviously like all overclocking its done at your own risk but as long as you don't give it a stupid amount of volts and are able to keep it cool enough then it should be ok
