q6600 versions and vid

just recieved my new q6600 today, (vid 1.35) out of curiosity i was wondering, are the guaranteed overclocking versions that ocuk sell selected versions with a lower vid.

thanks for reply, the 1.35 for mine is whats printed on the side of the box, im unfortunately without a motherboard at the minute so i cant try the cpu out and see how it clocks

They all have 1.35v on the box.

thanks for that, something i wasnt aware of cant wait to have a play with this new chip, laptop just isnt the same

thanks for all the input guys, unfortunately i cant test my new quad until i get my new mobo, im upgrading from a 680i to 780i from evga, i enjoyed clocking my e6600, ran 24/7 @3.6ghz voltage of i.525 set in bios, could have done the pencil mod, but was a bit scared to do so, most i done was thermal paste replacement on the nb/sb chipsets and mosfets.

Well the lower the voltage needed to run at 2.4ghz, then in theory the better the chip may overclock.

But it's not always the case.

bit of topic, great town portrush cob, not to far from me, many a good weekend ive had in the port, lovely in the summer my sister had a flat at landsdowne crescent, used to love staying down there.
