What advantage does this g0 stepping over a energy efficient one.. or are they the same thing??

Im confused..
I've tried searching the forums but theres soo many topics on the q6600 so its hard to find!

Cheers mate that certainly clears it up...

Next question would be...

im running a 2.4 ghz amd dual core, 2 gig ram, abit an8 board...939 pin

If i upgraded to that processor 2 gig 1066mhz and a Asus P5E Intel X38
(keeping my hd2900xt)... would it be worth the £380?

case is fine... (cosmos) power supply is 800watt gigabyte.

thanks guys.. im convinced that this would be a good move now..

The next question is.. which cpu cooler.. stock? or aftermarket.. needs to fit in the Cosmos.. and be quiet!

Im thinking the thermaltake ultra 120 extreme.. would adding a fan help?

edit.. im going to leave this upgrade mid january.. is this going to be ok? price isnt likely to go up are they?

Thanks

yeh i would use watercooling but that takes the system way out of budget... I still think im going to go for the thermaltake it looks better in the reviews.. unless any one has a reason why the tuniq tower is better?

Thanks

thats scary... im trying to run silent so i dont think my overclocking will be as extreme.. if i overclock at all. to be honest i can run most games HIGH atm.. so with the ummphh of 2 more cores it should be enough to see me through to the next 2 years (he hopes)
